Our Story
Ten LaChayal from the Start of the War
It all began on the very first day of the war.
I walked into a small store, and suddenly I saw a friend loading his car—not for himself, but to head out to the soldiers. In that moment, I realized we could not sit idly by. By 8 a.m., we were already on the road, starting a mission of giving, support, and love—without hesitation.
From that moment, it became clear: Ten LaChayal is not just an organization or an activity. It is a mission of the heart. We have heard hundreds of stories of courage, and met thousands of soldiers—each with their own personal story, each with their own need. We went to every corner of the country—south and north, bases and outposts—wherever soldiers needed strength, support, and a caring presence. Along the way, we experienced countless personal moments of heroism: deep conversations with struggling soldiers, quiet hugs that lifted spirits, words of encouragement that came straight from the heart.
Throughout the war, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Cohen, CEO of Ten LaChayal, served seven months in Gaza as part of the reserves. He left his family—five children—to be part of the frontlines, serving as a rabbi and giving both spiritual and practical support directly alongside the soldiers. His presence was a living example of faith, devotion, and the highest form of Ahavat Yisrael—love for the Jewish people.
